A litle googling would have given you the answer - your squid binary was not built with support for transparent proxying. Maybe that's somewhow affecting the other problems you mentioned.
A will laugh, but transparent proxying DOES WORK against all ods, becuase when I stop squid, I do not have web access anymore on local workstations.
