I installed them all
and still
In Yast I cannot configure AR242x802.11 abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter
because of missing Kernel device (eth0, wlan0), so I can't come to the choice as you showed in your screenshot

AAARRGGHH! I can't for the life of me see what is wrong. It should work. OK, I gotta ask, "You do have your wifi switch turned on on your laptop, right?" Let's start by checking what modules are actually loaded on your computer: 10:02 alchemy~> lsmod | grep ath ath_rate_sample 31232 1 ath_pci 255168 0 wlan 265840 5 wlan_wep,wlan_scan_sta,ath_rate_sample,ath_pci ath_hal 346896 3 ath_rate_sample,ath_pci I am thinking that we might want to uninstall all the madwifi stuff and reinstall it. I have to run right now, I'll follow up in a little while. However, in the mean time, let's check and prepare the kernel source to eliminate that as a problem. As root, do: cd /usr/src/linux make mrproper make cloneconfig > /dev/null 2>&1 make modules_prepare make clean You will get a bunch of output (even more if you remove the "> /dev/null 2>&1"). Since we have to compile the module against the source, this just makes sure the kernel is prepared. (it should be anyway, but .....) After this completes, reinstall all the madwifi rpms and reboot and then check with lsmod again. Talk to you in a bit. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
