Hello:
I have changed my CRT monitor to TFT flat panel. The monitor was recognized and set up by openSUSE 10.3 automatically, the resolution is set to 1400x1050, color depth is 24. I have an ATI Radeon VE/7000 videocard. Interestingely the monitor is blinking frequently, ie. turns completely to black just for a second. This occurs eg. when I change the with of name, ext or other colums or change directory in krusader, save file or change tab in Opera browser. The screen comes back to normal after this transient one second blank state. I never experineced similar with my CRT monitor, though its resolution was only 1024x768.
Any explanation, suggestion to solve this or trace the cause? TIA, suseuser04
Istvan, Other than what John said, my only thought is to make sure you are using the open source 'radeon' kernel module and not the fglrx module. It doesn't look like the 7000 is supported by the Linux ATI driver: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/catalyst_8... I could be, it's just not listed. -- David C.
