I need help with buying an external HD. I bought an Iomega eGo external 160 GB USB hard drive but it is not recognized by my os 11.0 linux only box. I thought it would work like my USB flash drives. Searching the web I found nothing about drivers but on Hardware4Linux I found that all Western Digital cards work on linux. TigerDirect has a Western Digital Firewire/USB2.0 combo about the same size.
Does anyone have a recommendation on this or any other external HD?

Western Digital My-Book line are very nice. I use one for backup on linux. they automatically shut down if you are not using them. I formatted mine with reiserfs. Works very well. But basic usb and or firewire enclosures are dirt cheap, and I've used them as well, just slap in what ever drive i want to use. I've never had Linux object to one of these. -- ----------JSA--------- Someone stole my tag line, so now I have this rental. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
