If the site did change, the webmaster can't change the code
distributed with openSUSE that directs the dict: command to the site.
And if noone submits a bug report, how is the maintainer of that code
supposed to know to update it?

BUT, it is not an openSUSE bug, but a problem *at* www.merriam-webster.com web site. Why would you report a bug to bugzilla.novell.com? You are free to reconfigure "dict" to point to another site.
