We've been having some interesting discussions over on the factory mailing list, and it was pointed out that maybe we were ignoring the regular users, so I figured I'd give it a shot and see how things have been going for those using KDE in openSUSE 11.0.
General questions I have for you are:
1. Which KDE are you using, v3.x or v4.x? V3.x. V4 is still missing some needed features and is rather unstable.
2. If you are using KDE4, what are your thoughts? Better than KDE3 or Gnome? Worse? Better than Gnome (what isn't ) , much worse than KDE3. V4 don't provide me with any thing I need from a DT-environment that V3 + Compiz are lacking.
3. If you are using KDE4, have you updated to the current v4.1.x build that is available or are you still using the v4.0.x build that came with the installation? Updated. Improvements with later versions, Getting closer to release status with 4.1.1.
4. If you have used KDE3 in the past, and are using KDE4 now, do you feel that it is a good replacement for KDE3? Strengths of KDE4? Weaknesses? Still consider it to have beta status and no replacement for V3. Have yet to found any features i V4

In my opinion it's more a show-off for graphical effects (like Vista) than an improvement of the way to do the actual work. (or I'm still haven't found it). The learning curve and needed addaption for V4 makes it a nightmare for deployment in any kind of production environment with ordernary users used to V3 or WinXP.
5. Do you like the look and feel of KDE in either KDE3 or KDE4? If not, what would improve it?
V3 is nice but a bit old. A face lift (v3.6) withe some graphcal effects and Compiz integration may be nice. V4 have a long way yet to go
Thanx
