I hope someone comes up with a workaround for us, or the kde team fixes KNetworkmanager soon.
Hi John,
Rest assured, things are being worked on: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=420995 :-)
Hm. Reading through your dialog with the suse people, I see yours is not the same problem I'm having. Mine was discussed much earlier, and had to do with the kde people deciding that users didn't want to see a lot of extraneous AP's, so selected only a few to display. Their mistake, of course, was that where there are many AP's, the one you want is not necessarily among those displayed, and nothing we poor users could do would force KNetworkManager to display all AP's detected. So unless you knew the exact ESSID string to connect to manually, you were screwed. That's what I was hoping would be fixed soon. Sorry, I didn't realize there other problems, too. jp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
