Hi, I downloaded the ATI respositories and the Qt4 and tried to install it. Further I run KDE font configuration but something did not work out properly. I am not able to understand the output. I will add it in a file because it's too long to put here.
thanks Francis
"kcmshell fonts" should simply work. If it doesn't, you have kde problems. As far as installing freetype2 with subpixel hinting, when you get it right (and get your kcmshell fonts problem fixed), you will be able to activate "anti-aliasing" by using kcmshell fonts and enabling it. Here is a screenshot of the dialog: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/screenshots/kde/subpixel.jpg Fix the kde problem and then revisit the subpixel hinting links I provided earlier. You desktop fonts will look better than in XP or Vista when you are done. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
