Hi list, I've made a few posts about my nic problem and most have met with silence. I assume from the responses nobody on this list has a Realtek RTL8111C nic yet or a 945GCM7 mb. I googled RTL8111C and found I wasn't the only one with a problem, archlinux and ubuntu users were also suffering and that the 2.6.26 series kernel fixes it. I installed the 2.6.26 kernel from factory and I no longer have to compile r8169 driver in, and my nic now works after boot 99% of the time with the driver loaded as a module. Interesting point most of the other distro users simply installed a pci nic and left it at that.
