Hi, I have a Nvidia 6200 with tv-out and running the latest nvidia binary. At one point under 10.3 I had tv-out running fine as a second display using composite (the card has a svideo->composite dongle). At boot it would show the POST info, then once a user had logged in the TV would provide another display device. This way I could play a movie/game on the TV and still continue to use the mouse/keyboard on the monitor. The tv is an older standard definition unit with AV input. While running 10.3 I had to reinstall opensuse, and I think I probably also updated the nvidia driver, and thereafter tv-out refused to work. At the time I put it down to a flakey system, and was determined to get it running once 11.0 came out. I have installed 11.0, and the problem continues. The nvidia-settings run as root does not detect anything, although the tv does 'jump'. I have also noted that on boot the tv does not display any of the post info like it used to, though it does 'jump' as well. I have tried the composite on the TV with another device and it seems to work fine. I figured it was a linux issue, but recently tried to get it running under windows. Again, with the nvidia binary, it fails to detect the SDTV at all, and if I force the detection, it picks up the tv as a HDTV. Of course, with this configuration, the resolutions are all screwed up. I have tried another AV cable with no success. I wonder if other Nvidia users have had any problems with TV out running the latest drivers, whether under windows or linux? Or if you have TV-out running, which driver are you using? And did you need to do anything 'special' getting it to work?
