[opensuse] problem sending mail in Kmail

While testing kde4.1 yesterday, I found that sending mail from Kmail suddenly stopped working. In the version of Kmail, the message "Transport 'KNode Mail Transport' is invalid." appears in a box titled "Sending failed - KMail" The same thing happens running in either kde 4.1 or 3.5. In the 3.5 version of Kmail, no message appears, but the messages don't get sent. In both versions, the settings are the same as they have been and previously I could send fine. I use smtp to send through a comscast account. I'm pretty much out of ideas and would appreciate any new ones!
