I'm having some inconsistencies with the "yast2 online_update", "openSUSE Updater" applet and "zypper up". The "openSUSE Updater" in my panel says I have 213 updates available. zypper says I have no updates available (zypper output below); and "yast2 online_update" lists no updates. How do I fix this?
There are different types of updates. By default, YaST Online Update and Zypper only look for "patches". The other updates that the openSUSE Updater refers to are updated packages from other repositories.
You can list these by using "zypper lu -t package". Updating works similarly: "zypper up -t package".
Hope that helps!
Hi Lenz,
That is interesting. I'm curious why "openSUSE Updater" never clears itself up or says that there are no longer any available updates. I have it install the updates and it turns right around and reports 200+ updates remaining. Over and over again. Odd, wouldn't you say?
