Hi list, - I wish to mount user homedirs on an NFS server running on SuSE11. I'm not using automount, just doing things the rather oldfashioned way. When I log in from the client machine using the CLI and hence NOT KDE, things work extremly fast. The remote mounted NFS homedir works blizardly fast. Permissions and all is ok. If I login using KDM and KDE - all plain vanilla - things nearly come to a halt. Eventually I can log in, but all file access is REALLY slow. Minutes in fact. I have proper records in /etc/hosts on both machines. These are my settings: (SERVER SIDE) /exportedhome 10.0.0.0/255.255.255.0(rw,no_root_squash,sync) (CLIENT in /etc/fstab) 10.0.0.254:/exportedhome /opt/nfsmount nfs nfsvers=3,sync,soft,rw,user,auto,exec 0 0 Any hints, ideas? -- -------------------------------------------- Med venlig hilsen/best regards Verner Kjærsgaard Novell Certified Linux Professional 10035701 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
