I've got a Kyocera FS-C5015N, a colour laserprinter. It's got three input trays: Multi-purpose (envelopes,transparencies,etc), Cassette1, Cassette2. We've got company letterhead in C1, plain paper in C2.
On the printer LCD-display, it has a "Feed Select" option which I assume determines the default tray, so it's been set to C2="Plain". It does not have an option "auto" or "default".
My problem is - I cannot get it to choose C1(corp letterhead). I'll choose the right options e.g. when printing from Acrobat Reader, but they're always ignored.
Somewhere in between my workstation and the printer, something is screwed up. I'm using cups. How do I diagnose this, i.e. what can I trace and how do I find the culprit? AFAICT, the options setup by e.g. Acrobat Reader are passed directly to lpr. lpr talks to cups, and cups feeds the printer. Any hints, suggestions ?
