Thanks for the suggestion. However, I have tried that also. Maybe I should use Yast2 abd remove everytging lp0 related then try 631

That is worth a try. On having similar problems, all printers configured in Yast were removed and left as un-configured before using cups.
Can you please post your response to the list as otherwise list subscribers following the thread will miss part of the posting?

I did try removing the Yast2 related printer and then tried locahost:631. Strange thing is 631 comes right up and I can select "Add a Printer". However, 631 hangs on "looking up localhost". Using a browser on localhost works, and ping 192.0.0.1 works as root or as a user. -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email:" n5xwb@windstream.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Gizmo: bmw_87kbike / via Skype: n5xwbg BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
