What are your module options set to? They can be set manually via /etc/modprobe.d/sound, or via yast. That drivers needs more info to work with specific sound cards. Check modinfo snd-hda-intel for a list of options. model is a common need, and enable=1, and position_fix. Google may help with specifics for your card.
Now we're getting into definite non-newbie territory. I don't even know what a module option is, much less where to find one and what to set it to. I executed the modinfo command and got a couple of screenfuls of coded somethings that I wouldn't touch with a 3-meter pole. I appreciate your intent to help (I really do) but your suggestion is way beyond my skill level.
Just use console: cat /etc/modprobe.d/sound it will be only few lines. Mark them with mouse, bring cursor in email message where you want to copy what you just marked and press middle mouse button (or wheel). Voila. The same with command: /sbin/lspci Maybe the best way is to see instructions here: http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:AudioTroubleshooting http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Intel-HDA_sound_problems that will give you idea what is the most probable problem. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
