Neither, I know how to read the questions I'm answering, and the question wasn't "has this been discussed", it was "is it hitting first time users"

It's a fairly safe bet. Experienced users are far more likely to go for the "hey this looks interesting, let's see what this looks like" kind of install His experience also means that he's set in the ways of KDE3 and explicitly looks for functionality that used to be there A new user will take it for what it is, and the core functionality is there. I grant you it's not as feature rich as KDE3, but it has all the core parts that a first time user will need.
