First guess is that wireless driver doesn't load. Try in console as root: lsmod to see what driver is loaded (if any). It should be something like ipw3945 or iwl3945.
OK. It doesn't load.
BTW, what openSUSE version you use and did you have any updates before crash. This is OpenSuSE 10.3, x86, 32 bit. It's running on 64bit dual core Toshiba A105 laptop (about 2 years old). It was fine for maybe 10 days. The update system did install a bunch of updates, but those were soon after (perhaps immediately after) install, and I haven't noticed anything since. The "crash" seemed pretty minor, just lost control of one session, all else was fine. Oh, when it did that, I used another user to get the wireless connection running before I rebooted.
<snip the lsmod> Can you try manually to load driver: modprobe ipw3945 If it is possible you can try to run YaST yast2 lan& If ipw3945 fails try the other one. -- Regards, Rajko http://en.opensuse.org/Portal needs helpful hands. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
