I'm about to rebuild my system to a 32bit 10.3 install, and before I do so, I'd like to back up my email and calendar, which live in Evolution.
I have, in the past, simply copied the entire contents of my home

So, the question is, precisely which directories and files must I back up in order to have a full backup of my Evolution (while, hopefully, leaving behind whatever has become poisoned)?
I run Ubuntu for my desktop (OpenSuSE for servers) I also use Evolution. For Ubuntu it defaults to:
sholland@sholland-desktop:~/.evolution$ pwd /home/sholland/.evolution sholland@sholland-desktop:~/.evolution$ ls -alh total 140K drwxr-xr-x 8 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-05-30 15:06 . drwxr-xr-x 45 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-05-28 15:29 .. drwxr-xr-x 4 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-03-09 15:56 addressbook drwx------ 3 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-03-15 02:21 cache drwxr-xr-x 5 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-03-09 15:56 calendar -rw------- 1 sholland sholland 3 2008-05-28 09:39 camel-cert.db -rw-r--r-- 1 sholland sholland 3.1K 2008-03-04 03:19 categories.xml -rw------- 1 sholland sholland 64K 2008-05-28 09:39 cert8.db -rw------- 1 sholland sholland 16K 2008-05-28 09:39 key3.db drwxr-xr-x 7 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-05-22 23:12 mail drwxr-xr-x 5 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-03-09 15:56 memos -rw------- 1 sholland sholland 16K 2008-03-04 17:46 secmod.db drwxr-xr-x 5 sholland sholland 4.0K 2008-03-09 15:56 tasks
So I'd imagine it should be pretty much the same.
Hmm, I hope it might be that simple, I thought I tried that and Evolution still got very upset and tried to do a fresh install/configuration. Don't I need something from Beagle (on SuSE/Gnome) too? And perhaps some other stuff? I've actually now backed up every "dot" directory from my sick system, so the new install is in progress, but I'd love to be right first time about what to restore for a good result. Part of the problem with my previous attempt at upgrade to 10.3, I believe, was the number of false-starts followed by patch, change, change-back, etc. Cheers all, and thanks for the input Shawn, Simon "You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers.
