I came across this thread at the webforums, http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=50595, and it sounds very interesting. Like the OP, I'm not wild about having to physically disconnect my internal HD to set up the USB drive, but it would be nice to have a bootable HDD that I could take with me for use on friends' PCs etc. That's why I thought I would help both myself and the OP by asking their question here, too. I've read the answers to their post, and the pages linked to there, but I'm as new to to this as they are, and just as unclear about whether it will work or not.
