Does anyone have the NCL installed on a 64-bit system? It looks like it may not install on 64-bit? That would seem stupid.

I'm pretty sure the Novell Client for Linux is built for SLED 10 and only really supported for SLED 10. Whilst it may be possible to install on openSUSE 10.3 it probably won't work very well. It looks like you're running into some of the differences between SLED 10 and openSUSE 10.3. The file /usr/lib/libbfd-2.17.50.0.5.so should be provided by binutils which you most likely have already got installed, so it's probably down to the differences of version in SLED and openSUSE.
