An attempt at configuring the list did not show any way to add MPlayer, and using the "Help" button got only the information that there is no help available.
"gnome-control-center"-> "Removable Drives and Media"
Charles
I neglected to add that the desktop is KDE; sorry. I was unable to find a "Removable Drives and Media" item. But further search gave me some more information on how to configure the list of apps (the title bar of which reads "KDE Daemon"). Trying again to configure it, I did: Configure (this opened "KDE Control Module")>Add Moved "DVD Video Disk" from the Available pane to the Display Service pane Wrote "Play DVD with MPlayer" in place of "Unknown" Wrote "gmplayer %u" in place of "konqueror %u" OK OK This caused the list in KDE Daemon to contain the MPlayer entry (with a big "X" icon which I assume I can drop something else on). When I click on this entry, MPlayer does indeed open, but so does an error message reading "Failed to open /home/stan/system/mmedia/sr0". I do not know why it is looking for the drive in my HOME directory structure, but it seems that I omitted doing something.
