I hope my answer isn't too ignorant. Have you tried running SaX2. Also it might be a good idea to read through Xorg's log files, dmesg, and ctrl+alt+f10 to see if the error might be more apparent. Hello all, I am new to OpenSuse. I just installed OpenSuse 10.3 on an old Dell box. During the installation process, I asked to have Gnome desktop installed. After the installation process finished I re- booted the box. At this point I received an error stating that X had not started and asked that I type in the root password in order for X to be corrected. Needless to say, X still did not start. The video card reports "Integrated Trio 3D 696, 3D Rage Pro AGP 1X". Can anyone give a hint as to how to get X configured?
