Were you able to find the problem and resolution? Hi, I did some basic investigation. 1. I thought, but now I'm sure, that it is a Compiz problem. I switched back to kde as window manager, and the mentioned problem solved. 2. My other account (it's just a test user with minimal configuration or personalization) doesn't show the mentioned problem. I think maybe a compiz module is erratic, which isn't enabled by default. I plan to switch back compiz and disable the modules one by one to find which causes the problem. I have another thought. Maybe, it is a problem caused by the exchange of the window manager while applets loading. I'd like to pause somehow the compiz-manager, but I can't find the way how I can pause a script for a half minute. Can someone help me with it? I assigned another problem to compiz. While I changed back to KDE, the bottom bar of k-menu works again. Under Compiz I have to click the bars to choose, however I set to not have to. Anyone experienced this problem?
