I just installed v10.3 on my Thinkpad 390X. Now, Kpowersave won't show that the AC adapter has ben unplugged. I've looked at all the settings I can think of with no luck. powersaved is running. I tried using tpctl, but it said that some directories were missing. So, I have no idea what else I may need to install to make it work. I had slackware on this recently with no problems, and v10.1 before with no problems....any ideas? Thanx
It works on my T41, out of the box. What does "powersave -b" output before and after unplugging? If it outputs the correct state (on the last line), you've got a problem in kpowersave. If the last line doesn't change, what does cat /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/AC/state output before and after unplugging? If that doesn't change, you need to call acpi_listen. Unplugging the AC adapter should cause an output like: ac_adapter AC 00000080 00000000 processor CPU 00000081 00000000 battery BAT0 00000080 00000001 Btw, to use tpctl, you have to "modprobe thinkpad" first, that is not done automatically. Then "tpctl -is" should tell you if your AC adapter is connected. But note that you can't use tpctl powermanagement with ACPI, AFAIK; it uses APM.
