I've seen the same exact behaviour with my NVidia Quadro NVS 140M card. Not all the screensavers tickle these freezes however. "Blank" is obviously the safest bet, but you might try experimenting a bit with a few of your favourites and narrow down the choice to just one (or possibly a random good one) amongst those that actually do work. --ted Peter Bradley said the following on 02/22/2008 12:57 PM:

Yes, I get it with ATI. I had to do a hard reboot. So I've given up on compiz. I guess what you've never had you'll never miss.
