I am looking at a reinstall of 10.x due to partition corruption from working in the other OS. Even gparted does not see the partitions and grub is destroyed. Thankfully all is backed up with the other OS on a separate drive on which /home and /Storage reside alone. Before with DOS aka FreeDOS / PCDOS2000 I had partitions as follows. hda1 = c: hda5 = d: ... hda9 = h: hda10 = /boot hda11 = /swap hda3 = / hdd1 = /home hdd2 = /Storage I am considering a new layout because things changed much since 9.x to 10.x hda1 = /boot hda2 = /swap hda5 = c: hda6 = d: hda7 = e: hda8 = f: hda9 = g: hda10 = h: hda3 = / with hdd1 = /home hdd2 = /Storage as before. In either case I have problems of partition corruption perhaps because this is a mobile home park with problematic power which effects the other OS. A atand alone 10.x drive on another box has no such problems. How do I record and restore all partitions for the one drive hda?? Grub is easy Ill make several copies on various media of the first 512 bytes. -- _______ _______ _______ __ / ____\ \ / / ____|_ _\ \ / / | | \ \ /\ / / (___ | | \ \ / / | | \ \/ \/ / \___ \ | | \ \/ / | |____ \ /\ / ____) |_| |_ \ / \_____| \/ \/ |_____/|_____| \/ | \ /|\ || |\ / |~~\ /~~\ /~~| //~~\ | \ / | \ || | X |__/| || |( `--. |__ | | \| \_/ / \ | \ \__/ \__| \\__/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
