[opensuse] CA/Private Key Questions

We have a Suse box that we installed and we did not install a CA. We need to import the root CA from our eDirectory tree, because this sever is going to run Zenworks. We have the root CA from the tree, but it also wants a private key to be able to import it. Where does this private key come from? Is it something that should also come from or be generated from eDirectory? Do I need to do some kind of CSR to create a private key for the machine I'm trying to import the CA on?
