I was attempting to update to the latest kernel using the openSUSE Updater. It did its thing for awhile and then can up with these errors. 3 Problems: Problem: No valid solution found with just resolvables of best architecture. Problem: Can't satisfy requirement kernel(default:vmlinux) == 50010dfbe221cfe5 for uvcvideo-kmp-default-r171_2.6.22.5_31-3.1.x86_64[openSUSE_10.3] Problem: Can't satisfy requirement kernel(xen:vmlinux) == 4f107f0afa09ed85 for uvcvideo-kmp-xen-r171_2.6.22.5_31-3.1.x86_64[openSUSE_10.3] Problem: No valid solution found with just resolvables of best architecture. With this run only resolvables with the best architecture have been regarded. Regarding all possible resolvables takes time, but can come to a valid result. Solution 1: Make a solver run with ALL possibilities. Regarding all resolvables with a compatible architecture. I think this was preventing me from having a catastrophic failure. The uvcvideo is the drivers for the web cam. Is there any way around this? In addition, would this upgrade cause problems with ndiswrapper, and with the Nvidia drivers that I am using. I note in other posts that the previous working kernel is being deleted. That certainly could cause problems in recovering from a bad install. I guess I am asking if there is any way to protect/recover my system easily if things don't work out. I'm using a HP DV9000 series notebook with dual AMD 64 bit processors 2 GB of ram, and Nvidia Geforce GO 6150 video. Thanks...
