What really is the value of zypper? I see every morning that it has started again, and I kill it. With no ill effects that I can see. The only benefit I see to having it run is that it takes up 60-80% of CPU and raises operating temp of CPU from normal 38C to 44C, both of these lasting for hours, without much else going on that I can see. Does it do something else valuable or is it just stressing the CPU?
Thanks for guidance.

It's checking for updates. Why it needs an 8-core Xeon to run without maxing out the system is beyond me too. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
