It's an statement, not an argument backed why facts. A good argument would be "It seems to me that you comparing apples to oranges because ...."
Or, as it is your problem, you could tell yourself "What is this guy trying to tell me? Can I use his input to get a better understanding of my original problem?" But hey, do what you want. It's a free world.
