After the latest security update all my http requests time out (10.2). I have a working internet connection, since mail and ssh work perfectly. It is not related to the firewall ( stopping the firewall makes no difference) and it is not related to the browser, because it happens in Firefox, Opera, Konqueror and also in Yast online update.
Where should I look now? /var/log/messages shows nothing of interest. Following up on my own post: rpm -qa --last reveals that
vankan@pavilion102:/part2/ripstra> rpm -qa --last | head -20 java-1_5_0-sun-plugin-1.5.0_update13-0.1 do 18 okt 2007 10:19:39 CEST java-1_5_0-sun-1.5.0_update13-0.1 do 18 okt 2007 10:19:13 CEST are the probable culprits, because up to that point YOU was ostensibly working. This makes me wonder, because a lynx call from the cli also timed out. So two questions: Can I undo the update to patchlevel 13 and if so how? Is it at all probable that this is going to help?
