Hi I run a school network with an nfs server with authentification via nis. kdm is used on the clients for the user to login.
In 10.3 the list of usernames doesn't appear on the first boot of the client. This is because ypbind seems to run _after_ the login screen appears. One can login but one has to type the username oneself. Not good for little kids used to clicking on their username. After the first logout the list appears.
Question, is there a way to make the login screen appear _after_ ypbind runs? Or is there another explanation?
Cheers, Steve.
Hi Steve, Try to set: RUN_PARALLEL="no" in /etc/sysconfig/boot It will make booting somewhat slower, but kdm will wait until other services are done. In any case it seems worth to report a bug. -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
