I believe that he has. He was not aware of the splitting of the different parts of the OpenOffice_org package. MOST of us were not. When MAJOR changes, as this was, are made to packages, these changes need to be broadcast in prominent locations, such as this list. This was not and is not regularly done. The knowledge only becomes available after many people have many problems with a package that "used to just work".
The list is not enough: many people think of asking somewhere, after they get "the problem". It would be better if the installer gave some warning, like a popup, same as the kernel does.
Good idea. Well, I have added the Supplements dependency and YaST started to install the app subpackages (calc, writer, ...) by default. So, it should solve the main problem. It works only in the OpenOffice_org:UNSTABLE project now. I'll add the dependencies to the STABLE project ASAP. If it is not enough, I'll try to add the popup. I hope that it is possible also in the Build Service installation source. -- Best Regards, Petr Mladek software developer --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE LINUX, s. r. o. e-mail: pmladek@suse.cz Lihovarská 1060/12 tel: +420 284 028 952 190 00 Prague 9 fax: +420 284 028 951 Czech Republic http://www.suse.cz/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
