Hi, I have 10.2 authenticationg against NT domain.
Everything is fine, except that now it shows that my password will expire in 3 days. The problem is, that for sure on the domain controller this account is set with no password expiration. There is no such a warning when I log in to a windows machine connected to that domain controller.
How do I fix this?
This is speculative but seeing as no-one else has offered anything.. My initial thought was that you are using smbfs support and the local samba configuration file contains invalid password expiry details, or that there is something in your local username defaults. Domain login effectively attaches a locally created account to a network server account, if the local account has password expiry set this could explain this. If one machine logs in in via workgroup and the other via Domain authentication the difference in behaviour could have something to do with the different handling of authentication in those modes. - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
