I hope I haven't missed this elsewhere, but I'd be interested to know if there are special reasons why you've used ext3 on / and xfs on your other Linux partitions - just as a pointer next time I'm setting up a disk.
Ext3 is very stable, standard, and easy to repair: a good choice for root.. Xfs has good tools for imaging a partition for backup, for instance. Good for /home. Just look at the available tools: xfs xfs_bmap xfs_copy xfs_freeze xfs_info xfs_logprint xfs_ncheck xfs_repair xfsinfo xfs_admin xfs_check xfs_db xfs_growfs xfs_io xfs_mkfile xfs_quota xfs_rtcp - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
