For retrieval of a single message number N in

Is it possible to find out the number N without downloading the compressed mbox from the archiv?
Good question!
The old list contained a header like this:
X-Message-Number-for-archive: 275952
The current one doesn't. Nor is it possible to see
the the number in the web
archive, I think.
I don't know either, but you do know there is a searchable copy at:
So if you know some content, or who sent it, you can drill down pretty quickly.
I couldn't find the message number there nor could I find it in one of the following web archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/opensuse%40opensuse.org/ http://www.nabble.com/openSUSE-community-f15809.html http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.linux.suse.opensuse.user But Gmane also provides access to the archive over its usenet server. It's possible to donwload only the message headers with a newsreader. The desired message number is found by displaying the full headers and looking for a header called Original-X-From. That's basically what I wanted though it would be nicer if lists.opensuse.org provided the message number in its web archive. __________________________________ Kennt man wirklich jeden über 3 Ecken?
