Does anyone know if SUSE plans to release a version of OpenOffice with GStreamer?
It should have been supported since SUSE Linux 10.1. The audio and video can be added in the "Insert/Movie and Sound". It should play in the fullscreen mode...
If it does not work, please report a bug.
Note that you need gstreamer-plugins-base-oil-32bit if you use 32-bit OOo on 64-bit system. This package was missing in the original release. It was later available via an online update.
Thanks Petr for your response. In my case I have a 32-bit SUSE 10.2 OS. I just want to hear wav files or anything else that is embedded in power point slides if possible. Here are the gstreamer rpms I have loaded. gstreamer010-ffmpeg-0.10.2-0.pm.1 gstreamer010-fluendo-mp3-0.10.6-0.pm.1 gstreamer010-plugins-base-0.10.13-0.pm.1 gstreamer010-0.10.13-0.pm.1 I have the suse released version of Openoffice which is 2.1.10 as reported by help about. However, rpm reports: OpenOffice_org-2.1-19.1 Any suggestions for being able to hear the multimedia stuff on a slide presentation is most appreciated?. Before reporting a bug I thought I would check to see if I am running the right version and if you had any further illumination?
