Hi all, I have one server (Suse10.0) that has a great difference in speed when transferring data up or down a samba-share. Copying an iso-file (650MB) to the sambaserver is 10 times faster than getting it back to the PC. Since most traffic is getting data from the server, this poses rather a problem, users are complainig about it. This happens with WinXP clients and also when I do this with my 10.1 laptop. When i do scp with my laptop on the same iso-file, I still have a diff of a factor 6. Not as much as when I use smb, but still too much to be good. Somebody have any idea where I have to start looking, and what tools to use for this? I already did the documented tweaks on smb.conf with socket options, this does not help. I do not directly suspect samba, althoug here it is the worst, because the speed-diff is also there with scp. -- L. de Braal BraHa Systems NL - Terneuzen T +31 115 649333 F +31 115 649444 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
