Hello SuSE people, For the last 3 or 4 days I have gotten a pop-up from smart about my drive failing from high temperatures. This happens only once a session (6 to 8 hours) I ran smartctl and following is the output: EasyStreet:/ # smartctl -H /dev/sda smartctl version 5.37 [x86_64-suse-linux-gnu] Copyright (C) 2002-6 Bruce Allen Home page is http://smartmontools.sourceforge.net/ === START OF READ SMART DATA SECTION === SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED Please note the following marginal Attributes: ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE 190 Temperature_Celsius 0x0022 045 043 045 Old_age Always FAILING_NOW 267229069367 What do the numbers mean? (Except the 190 Celsius of course, and is that an unexpected value?) Who can tell me what to expect. Is this brand new sata drive failing on me?
