Proper mail clients (meaning those with topic thread support (meaning everything except Outlook / Outlook Express)) make this explicit to everyone already.
Fair enough. I haven't surveyed which mail clients do and do not support threading.
This is a high volume list. Manually deleting all the redundant copies that would result if your practice was common would be tiresome, tedious, unnecessary and burdensome.
So don't. Press the space bar if the del key is too small for you. I don't find it a problem. Apparently some people do. Again, fair enough.
It has for years been the practice on this list to reply _only_ to the list and not send redundant copies to the person to whose post you're replying.
And I was to know that how? Read the wiki, right? Well the wiki pages on this ( http://en.opensuse.org/Opensuse_mailing_list_netiquette and http://en.opensuse.org/Mailing_Lists#Reply-to-munging ) say nothing on this matter bar suggesting discussion of it should be avoided: "please don't complain about this on the lists, it has been discussed many, many, many times in the past already." Is it really necessary to install a plug-in to use Thunderbird conveniently on this list? And why isn't the information in the on-line FAQ if it's so well established? TBH, this wouldn't bother me but for the tone with which the somewhat obscure matter was raised by Mr Marshall. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
