I do so to make it clear who I'm replying to in the archives. Why is that a problem? You can just tap the 'del' key.
Proper mail clients (meaning those with topic thread support (meaning everything except Outlook / Outlook Express)) make this explicit to everyone already. This is a high volume list. Manually deleting all the redundant copies that would result if your practice was common would be tiresome, tedious, unnecessary and burdensome. It has for years been the practice on this list to reply _only_ to the list and not send redundant copies to the person to whose post you're replying.
