We are right now evaluating in detail how to fix the design of the installation source handling in the update stack so the current synchronization code can be dropped completely.

P.S. Dropping ZMD is a different issue, related, but different.
but, can you reply to the OP regarding what to do, when this happens? I am working with a SLED 10 install at the moment, and trying to follow the jem report guides for adding multimedia support ... the zen updater has given me problems, gotten "out of sync" and thrown these errors, and I'm not sure what to do about it/ how to recover.
This depends on what is out of sync. I assume it's YaST not having all the sources that Zen updater is using. In this case, easiest way out is re-register the system. Stano
For those who would suggest throwing ZMD out ... thank you for your reports of success, but really, I want to use the tools that are native to the distro ... and when there are problems I want to work through getting them fixed.
