I'm having trouble editing my network interface configuration in yast. I click into it, click next at the prompt for NetworkManager (the default) or ifup, and then it displays both my interfaces. The problem occurs when I try to edit one of the interfaces. The yast gui immediately hangs. Top shows the command '/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base lan qt' running away with the cpu (though only increasing my LA by 1 or so). I poked around and found the /var/log/YaST2/y2log file. Here's a couple of snippings. 2007-01-17 20:07:45 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] CommandLine.ycp:1208 ---------------------------------------- 2007-01-17 20:07:45 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] CommandLine.ycp:1209 Command line interface started 2007-01-17 20:07:45 <2> aharrison(5812) [qt-ui] YQUI_x11.cc(loadPredefinedQtTranslations):434 Can't load translations for predefined Qt dialogs from /usr/lib/qt3/translations/qt_en.qm 2007-01-17 20:07:45 <1> aharrison(5812) [qt-ui] YQUI_core.cc(processCommandLineArgs):240 Qt argument: qt 2007-01-17 20:07:45 <1> aharrison(5812) [qt-ui] YQUI_core.cc(processCommandLineArgs):240 Qt argument: 2007-01-17 20:07:45 <1> aharrison(5812) [qt-ui] YQUI_core.cc(calcDefaultSize):350 Default size: 1343x811 2007-01-17 20:07:45 <1> aharrison(5812) [qt-ui] YQUI_core.cc(YQUI):210 Forcing /usr/lib/qt3/lib/libqt-mt.so.3 open successful 2007-01-17 20:07:46 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Detection.ycp:85 Network detection prepare 2007-01-17 20:07:46 <5> aharrison(5812) [YCP] network/hardware.ycp:173 netcard 2007-01-17 20:07:46 <3> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Linuxrc.ycp:26 Reading install.inf, but file doesn't exist!!! 2007-01-17 20:07:46 <3> aharrison(5812) [agent-ini] IniParser.cc(parse):519 Can not open /etc/install.inf. 2007-01-17 20:07:46 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] PackageSystem.ycp:301 want: [] 2007-01-17 20:07:47 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Detection.ycp:123 Setting up interface eth0 ... 2007-01-17 20:07:47 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Detection.ycp:129 Network detection prepare (end) 2007-01-17 20:07:47 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Detection.ycp:162 Network detection start 2007-01-17 20:07:47 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Detection.ycp:170 dhcpcd-test skipped 2007-01-17 20:07:47 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Detection.ycp:179 Network detection start (end) 2007-01-17 20:07:48 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] SuSEFirewall.ycp:1163 Firewall init scripts are enabled 2007-01-17 20:07:48 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] SuSEFirewall.ycp:1188 Firewall services are started 2007-01-17 20:07:48 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] SuSEFirewall.ycp:1951 Possibly conflicting services found allowed: $["DMZ":[], "EXT":[]] 2007-01-17 20:07:48 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] SuSEFirewall.ycp:2048 Firewall configuration has been read: <......snip.....> 2007-01-17 20:07:48 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] NetworkService.ycp:55 NetworkManager: true 2007-01-17 20:07:48 <3> aharrison(5812) [bash] ShellCommand.cc(shellcommand):78 sh: brctl: command not found 2007-01-17 20:07:48 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] Lan.ycp:1942 Have Xen bridge: false After I click the Edit button: 2007-01-17 20:47:14 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] NetworkDevices.ycp:862 Check(wlan,bus-pci-0000:03:03.0,) 2007-01-17 20:47:14 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] NetworkModules.ycp:316 Modules=$["bus-pci-0000:03:00.0":$["MODULE":"b44", "MODULE_OPTIONS":"", "STARTMODE":"auto"], "bus-pci-0000:03:03.0":$["MODULE":"ipw2200", "MODULE_OPTIONS":"", "STARTMODE":"auto"], "vpid-8086-266e-1028-0189":$["MODULE":"snd-intel8x0", "STARTMODE":"auto"]] 2007-01-17 20:47:14 <1> aharrison(5812) [YCP] NetworkDevices.ycp:862 Check(wlan,bus-pci-0000:03:03.0,) 2007-01-17 20:47:14 <3> aharrison(5812) [YCP] CWM.ycp:272 Error on key help of widget tab: Empty help And it's hung at this point... Any ideas? Are there some config files I could delete to force it to start a fresh network config maybe? -- Andy Harrison -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
