Stan,
The version I use is the one I bought from Novell. I was wondering in mysystem that only I have sata HD's if this is fooling the installer that it needs the ide-scsi module.

Please reply to the list only, avoid top-posting, etc. Thanks. You system requires the ide-scsi for the SATA HDDs. Are your CD/DVD devices also SATA or are they the old style PATA (Parallel ATA)? ide-scsi is the way of the future as I understand it. (PATA) devices/drivers that we have become used to will be incorporated into the ide-scsi way. Makes sense since SATA will probably totally displace PATA soon. One driver to rule all! The machine I mentioned is a laptop that will never know SATA so why it did ide-scsi will remain a mystery. The CD/DVD drive didn't work quite right but it wasn't an issue because I didn't need it for the few weeks it ran in that config. It booted the DVD and installed off my LAN.
