I have an analogue modem which is configured to /dev/modem which is a link to /dev/ttyS0. However, whenever I restart my machine the link disappears and I have to either create it manually or through yast by redoing my modem.
Is this a bug? How can I get it to stay?
A known misfeature since 10.1 :-P Edit '/etc/init.d/boot.local': ln -s /dev/ttyS1 /dev/modem ln -s /dev/psaux /dev/mouse Or equivalent for your system. Its a hack, not the real solution, which would be modifying one of the hald or devfs conf files. But it works and is much easier to do. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
