I have tried to configure updates and am not having success. I have never had this problem with Suse before. I have registered the purchase with Novell, tried configuring KDE_Updater_Applet and all to no avail. I have read the Startup manual with no benefit. Any help would be appreciated.
You don't say which version you're using, Doc. I had the same problem with 10.1, and got everything to work by NOT registering during the setup process. Instead, run the Yast updater with the default selections, YAST will update itself, do it again, and then once more.
You'll find that YAST has installed the Suse Update repository and a whole bunch of other stuff. Now go and register if you want to.

Thanks Bob. I have to laugh. I am sure some people wondered if I had a clue. I assure all that I went through all the usual maneuvers multiple times, most assuredly including the online update configuration. I am running 10.2 and have been a Suse user since 5.? (and linux user since 0.99pl6 on my Amiga 3000). Anyway, this morning I ran online update configuration again and, instead of opening a browser, it told me it was adding a download source and all appears to be well. I suspect it was just a matter of my registration, done last night, "taking".
