I am running Suse 10.1 and recently added a network printer using cups and samba and the client is Windows XP. The printer prints smoothly, the problem is when you click on "print" it takes awhile to load the printer dialogue. I have tried it n other PC's as well still no difference, I also disabled the printer on the previous server(NT4). Can any one please give me a probable cause?
Thank in advance

Uhhh maybe it's the way you have it set up? I have an HP4000TN, which has it's own IP address (as you imply yours does) I use this printer (on the network) from 4 linux machines and a couple of XP boxes... With no problems. On the linux machines, CUPS sees it as a direct network printer using port 9100 and the ip address. No problems with that. The XP boxes are also set up to see it as a direct network printer. No samba involved. No CUPS involved for the XP machines. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
