It does not bode well.
"Microsoft chairman Bill Gates said today that the software giant will invest $150 million in Apple and will develop and ship future versions of its Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, and development tools for the Macintosh."
That was in 1997 and Apple's stock price increased over 10x since then.
And the increase in stock price was solely thanks to Bill and not other products like ipod????
Yup. For the better part of the past 10 years AAPL stock has been in the proverbial dumpster. Even the big, (bursted) tech bubble of 2000 didn't elevate stock value half as much as Apple's recent iPod success. They're kicking butt now. Lucky for them their short liason with Microsoft didn't kill them.
