I have Wlan 1/2 working and can't get further on a new install of OS 10.1 from the remastered CDs, using the 2.6 kernel with all updates installed. Can I ask for some advice. I have the drivers installed and loading for my 3com (Atheros chip) cardbus card (from the madwifi site as advised on the open SuSE wiki, and the madwifi extensions installed. Kwifi is recognising and managing the card, and the card is connecting to the access point (AP's MAC address is being found). I've configured the card using yast for dhcp. Kmanagenetworks is seeing the card and a range of local networks. The access point has WEP (shared key) and MAC address access controls. The card's MAC address has been added to the AP's list. The card is not getting a lan address, and wep seems intermittent (sometimes kwifi shows it as engaged, sometimes not). The laptop is dual boot (with Win/XP) and windows connects flawlessly. Can anyone advise what to look at / check / try next? I can't turn off the security on the AP until the weekend to see if this helps.
